Design for the Common Good

Team Collaboration Abel Rodriguez | Yadira Roman-Escorcia | Anoa Obika

For my class, Identity and system Design, we were allowed to work alongside the stakeholders of the “Design for the Common Good” exhibition. This design exhibition included a spectrum of designers whose mission is to make a positive impact in the world through their designs and design practice. Over the semester, I collaborated with a small team of designers to develop a brandmark for the exhibition. First, we collected research to help us brainstorm a concept that could be visually translated. Ultimately, we created a brandmark that included five hands surrounded by each other to make a star. Each point of the star represents the five organizations championing the exhibition. The mark also means the manifestation of unity, collaboration, impact, and the common good—all virtual drives of the Design of the Common Good exhibition.
